I was born and raised in Genova, Italy.
Woodworking is the one activity I have enjoyed
throughout my life. I love the feel of a piece of
wood, and as I work with it, I always feel a subtle
sense of pleasure and wonder as I shape it and
create that which it is to become. I have worked
with hardwood for over 50 years.
Lately I did some architectural work, creating
some fancy things with wood contoured in the
fashion of nice ropes and chalices. Eventually,
though, I was attracted to do some sculpturing and
lathe work.
At my advanced age, I feel I am indeed blessed
to have this enthusiasm for making beautiful
things. Not only woodworking keeps me occupied, it
stimulates and challenges me constantly to
accomplish high quality work. Wood, any wood, but
in particular hardwood, is noble fiber and I treat
it with the respect it deserves. A precious,
limited commodity, I try not to waste any.
Sometime I wonder what tales a piece of wood
would tell if we were to listen carefully
